It appears that inaccurate information is circulating within the veteran community regarding a purported Texas sales tax exemption for 100% disabled veterans.
Contrary to claims appearing on veteran-focused websites, social media posts, and some AI-generated search results, no Texas sales tax exemption for disabled veterans currently exists under state law, and no legislation including House Bill 235 has passed or taken effect. As a result, no new exemption has been created, and no exemption form has been issued or made available by the Comptroller’s office. Veterans and their families are encouraged to verify benefit information through official state sources at tvc.texas.gov.
